Published on three continents: North America, Europe and Africa, Badoe’s books include a collection of folktales, a number of trade picturebooks, as well as readers for educational markets. More recently she has published Young Adult novels which crossover easily into adult reading. Between Sisters, set in Ghana, West Africa, explores the life of an impoverishded teenager who strives to live her dreams in the city. Her most recent novel, ALUTA, is set in Ghana during the turbulent years when one coup d’etat followed another.
